Urban Agriculture presents a unique opportunity to address multiple socio-economic issues at once. The EnviraGrow Community Farming initiative provides education experiential learning and workforce development training in the field of agriculture, business, engineering, manufacturing, health, and wellness. The initative is focused on the purpose of access to healthy foods to maintain one's health and wellness by learning how actually to build the EnviraGrow indoor farming system how to grow using the EnviraGrow indoor farming system and how to sustain income with the EnviraGrow indoor farming system.
The “EnviraGrow” Mobile Indoor Farm; a collaboration between Renew Richmond, Math Science Innovation Center, Envirable Grow Systems and the City of Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building, make next generation farming accessible to at risk communities in a dynamic way.
Our mission is to levarage the EnviraGrow Food Production System as a sustainable solutions to food access, poor nutrition, and poverty.
In December 2017, EnviraGrow was awarded by Governor Terry McAuliffe the Rural Rehabilitation Trust Fund Grant from the Commonwealth's Rural Rehabilitation Trust Fund (RRTF).
The initiative's goal is to link farming communities in Central Virginia with food insecure communities while building a community farm-to-table model that will be sustainable and replicated inside public schools to continue assisting with providing access to healthy foods for all communities in the future.

First, spreading the initiative to local farmers to help them grow more efficiently, all year round. Next, spreading to local public schools, local universities and then spreading to surrounding local governments of communities facing access and poverty issues. This initiative will then encourage duplication in other states throughout the nation experiencing food access and poverty issues.
Lastly, duplication will spread to other countries throughout the world which are experiencing limited food access and poverty issues. EnviraGrow's network is designed to be activated for Emergency Operations Plans during Disaster for impacted areas.
